Didn't rate his self titled album however until lately but because I wanted to like it I kept coming back. Today was one of those days. Don't know if it was the rain or the fact I finally listened to the actual words, but d*mn dude...
Anyone else found this album content oddly self-loathing?

first time I fully appreciated the album was on a long train ride after a uni interview. Weren't in the best of moods and I just seemed to sink into the album and kinda zoned out.
To me its one of those albums that you need to be in the right mindset to listen to, like Burial.
I still think he should write more uplifting and dancey music, like CMYK.

Or get back to Bass music. Piano ballads are cool and all, I understand why he did it. I can almost feel that, with all his classic training/talent he just HAD to get such an album out of the way. Fine... Now let's get back to synths and pads, pls k thx

JB definitely needs to go back to making more dance/dj friendly tunes.
not to say he doesnt do justice to the other side, i just prefer that to his 'live' stuff

I don't understand, was he once dubstep?
I know sometimes the craziest things are classified as dubstep, but I just can't seem to link his self titled to 'bass music'

It ISNT. but yes, he once was. His self titled is nothing like the music he became popular for.

Just saw him play anti war dub live, less than a few hours ago. It was amazing, pure vibes...
@Trax: his first releases were dubstep, first time I ever heard him was on a distance show. He'll always have connections to this sound and imo, he really gets it. In 07 he was posting a lot of dubs in the forum, wonder if anyone has any of those about?

He needs to release more of his harmonimix remixes.
Didn't feel most of the album at all, liked his previous work though...

this, basically.
His EPs previous to his album were brilliant, when you listen to them from early to new you could really see progression. Klavierwerke was really good but the album did not do much for me at all sadly.
