filter morphing/advance bass tips for FM8??

i feel like have a decent grasp on FM synthesis, but after countless hours of trial and error in FM8, im still struggling with getting anything usable out of this beast. currently im getting way more out of operator just because of the ease of the filter/lfo, but i feel like there are some gnarly filtering capabilities in FM8 using dual filters in the Z operator that im just not getting my head around.

any advanced FM8 users have any pointers?
im after neuro-wobble/noisia dubstep kind of sounds but im also just interested in getting deeper into FM8 and exploring further FM in general.

i should also mention that yes ive seen the Sound Design // FM Synthesis // Foley // Field Recording thread.
the links for FM alone in that thread are a gold mine, its this one here if you havent seen it:
http://www.dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=199401

that stuff all helped a ton with grasping how FM works and now that i understand the concepts and feel comfortable with the interface, i want to push ahead to actually making something that is usuable and sounds bad ass....

sadly at this point i can still make better suited bass sounds for dubstep via massive, which i seriously cant stand the sound of at this point...

Check out Brian trifon's tutorials. I know he has some on fm8, as well as some general bass tuts as well. Just look up trifonic and broswse the vids til you see a guy using logic

dont just rely on the operators alone, try this for example..
set up different/similar patches in each corner of the morph section, use the random seeds and make sure u spread out the seeds. see wht sounds good as u go through each Random Seeds number.
can get some crazy sounds doing this but i still kno what u mean, im finding that i get more usable sounds with using additive/subtractive synths. its easy to get unique sounds with fm but sometimes it can sound a bit tinny or have a distinct kind of sound to it.
so i can only say make yourself rely on using fm8 a lot more just 2 learn it further. it all takes time and effort, theres no 1 single special technique to get better sounds.. only further tweaking and have parameters set up differently and messing in the morph and also the MOD section etc will get you making better/more variety of sounds.

jesus that's such a simple Idea, but so damn effective! thanks for this. I'm gonna mess with the morphing capabilities of FM8 more. I've gotten some proper "noisia" sounds out of FM8 with a bunch of automation, and a long-ass insert chain, but that's a GREAT idea!

thanx for commending my idea :D, i always try to fully utilise any synth that i use + yeh the morph section is VERY useful.
also when using the random seeds.. play with the Timbre for more different sounds & lower the Brightness if it sounds too harsh/white noisy, or increase for more grit :W:

i feel like a dnumbnut, but i forgot how to load different presets on each corner of the morph square...

Just drag the preset into the box.
