Myself (Jate) and my mc Cheebs have recorded a number of podcasts we call "dub sessions". its a purely vinyl mix with a bit of joking around and chatting inbetween. I also make tunes and put them up on the soundcloud. i never expected it to "go big" or even to have much notice taken of, and seeing that there are a number of plays but hardly any comments or communication regarding the tracks and the podcast, im beginning to wonder if theres any point uploading this shit? if anyone has any experience in this kinda thing, do tell. thanks

Just because people dont sign up to Soundcloud in order to leave comments, doesnt mean people arent listening.
You never know who might come across your mix that doenst have a Soundcloud account.

If you have to ask, your heart isn't really in it.
If you truly loved doing it, you wouldn't give a shit.

..im not looking for "internet fame" whatsoever im just putting up mixes i do with a friend because some people might enjoy listening to it. ive been making tunes for years, "fame" doesnt matter to me im just asking the question, is it worth me putting up mixes and tunes if not many people are enjoying them?

I delete my shit and change my name whenever I start getting too much attention [true story]
Just make sure you're doing all of this for the right reasons. The "whats the point of doing a mix if no one validates me" attitude won't get you very far. That type of ostentatious behavior is more suited for the hip hop scene. Have you tried passing out media offline? gasp!

And yet you still question...

So your heart isn't in it. If you have to ask whether something is worth doing, then subconciously you already believe that it isn't.

I just don't know how to deal with attention or being liked I guess. I'm not ready for any of that, I just like making tunes that I can enjoy, and honing my skills.

are you joking? my own "personal selfish gain" what the fuck? im putting it up for people to enjoy the same type of music that i enjoy, how is that selfish? surely its the opposite of being selfish. nice try tho pal
