Hey everyone. I was watching a video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MoAlWDVe2hw), and it came as quite a shock to me when I realized I've never actually heard dubstep "for real". The bass in the video is awesome! I tried turning my own sub to the highest level, I put on Bear Trap (Excision Remix), and it sounded nothing like in the video. What kind of sound system do you need to achieve a bass like that? And do you need to configure it in a certain way to get that "staccato" bass sound?
Sorry, total audio noob, I just really, really love my bass.

Be honest, this is your way of asking views for your video, isn't it?
Edit: hah, just saw how many views it alreadt has never mind..
..but then I totally get this post... ..what bass are you talking about? o.O You're probably just talking about the distortion of the sub in the recording which may make it sound more agressive, but there's hardly ANY sub in the video

Alright thanks for clearing things up for me and not being douchebags.
I was referring to what Genevieve mentioned - the evil farts. I think it might sound like that if you have the sub on a table and it sort of jumps up a little causing the entire table and sub to vibrate (of course, it's distorted even further by the camera's audio recording capabilities). I thought "brostep" and/or evil dubstep productions were designed for that kind of setup - guess I was wrong. I really loved that aggressively menacing sound.

If you want something truly menacing that actually has bass, look no further:
What kind of sub/speaker system do you have? I'm gonna throw out a wild guess here and say its Logitech...
Another thing, you can't hear dubstep 'for real' in your bedroom. That's what club systems are for

Koncrete is a cool tune, I've heard it before
They're 10 year old 5.1 Philips Sub/speakers. Nothing fancy.
And yeah it's kind of obvious I'll never achieve the penultimate sound with cheap equipment, I can see why you felt the need to correct me though.

It's a good idea, I'm gonna try that.

not true - admittedly nothing compares to clubs, but you can still achieve weight in a room..
@OP listening to actual music files (wav or 320 mp3's) will help as youtube audio is limited at 128kbps and is shit
