I was just seeing an interview on datsik from youtube and he talks alot about how he linked up with downlink and others through this forum and its where he learned most of his stuff. Out of curiosity, how many i guess quote unquote famous producers started off on this forum? Not sure if this is the right place to post it but its production related i guess

Depends on your definition of "famous" ...and how involved you consider one to have been to "come from this forum"...

...but quite a few people (in Dubstep & otherwise) have dipped in and out of the production & dubs forum.

well people i consider famous are the people that show up when you type "dubstep" on a youtube search lol i.e rusko, nero, flux pavillion, excision, doctor p, skrillex, 12th planet, datsik, downlink, dodge and fuski. But also some more underground ones like zomboy, calvertron, wonkap, nerd rage, boy kid cloud.

See - this is the reason I asked your definition of "famous"... cos I haven't heard of half the people you listed.

ahh okay well then there it is. i used that as an example because im sure the majority of the population would agree that if they have alot of hits on youtube they can be considered famous

you probably dont know who they are, but all of the 'heads' people in it from the start before all this wobble nonsense, they all used this forum, skream, distance, ramadanman, scuba, mala etc all have accounts, they probably dont use them that much these days though

I wouldn't say I'm famoButkus even close to good or moderator good IMO but I'm starting to get plays from people like bare, wonkap, teknian, davr, syrebral, darkexlir, inpectordubplate, so yes I'm getting there

but I know excision datsik downlink flux grumblex funtcase and koan sound came from here

both DZ and XI were stalwarts on the dubs forum early on. Untold contributed here, including a great dubby samplepack.. '08ish i think? there was also a user named "jblake" for a while

seriously though, from back in the day when this was just a spot for heads, there's been plenty of banter amongst artists... mainly because for a long time, this was IT in terms of a larger place for the sound. Skream, pokes, and plastician alone were responsible for thousands of good jokes...

I forgot to mention that chewie and depone are here too

Its more that the kind of people who listen to music like that are the kind of people who only listen to music on Youtube, so they've played each video multiple times. In HD bro!

Also Skream is before your time? Wha? He's easily one of the most famous dubstep producers even to this day...

rob sparx always used to post on here and tunnidge has still been about recently.

however this level of fame = youtube hits is ridiculous. you do realise that lots of people don't listen to all of their music on youtube? damn these kids and this stupid online music culture...
