Metal grinding/Robotic movement wobble bass

I've been searching the web for just about any signs of making some sort of metal grinding/robot movement type sounding wobble bass. Or maybe like a little dryer wobble compared to borgore. It's really hard for me to explain this wobble. But I do have several example videos,

This one, Cyberoptics - Teddy eats children, skip to about 1:28 for the part I'm talking about, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUWtUXB0 ... re=related

Then this video which already has the correct timing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iu2uo65s ... page#t=74s

I guess you could call me a mediocre dubstep artist. I've been working on a song for the past maybe month or two just trying to tweak a few things up put in a few more wobble variations and this is probably the one that would really pack the punch. If anyone could just give me some pointers on how to go about making this that would be great. I use Massive at the moment, but I'm feeling that people like Cyberoptics, even if he uses massive, that isn't the only thing he uses. Anyway, thanks in advance! (I did search for several different key words in the forums for this and the ones that did come up didn't exactly help because they weren't the right sounds I was looking for.) :)

Like so many have said before The Grid on DOA is a goldmine for this stuff. I've made some VERY close Datsik and Excision sounds that resemble this and the key is resampling. You first make a killer patch in massive or any other synth, bounce down a 4 bar note, and throw that into a sampler. From there, frequency split it into 3 or 4 bands and effect each band to taste. Use a 10-40ms delay on the mids for that roboish type sound. Frequency splitting and resampling are key for that type of sound.

Thanks mate, I'll give that a shot :)

once you split frequencies and add effects to each then how would you make another bass to compliment it and resample? looking for a vague example lol

You either make another sound with either a modded version of the patch you used first and effect it differently or a whole new sound and effect it the same? :W: :6:

Camel Phat with some Xcita setting and a comb filter with the res turned up a bit will get you fairly close.

very true, also to the OP it matters a lot on the initial sound, you mainly have 2 tweak the bass coming from the synth a lot otherwise it wont sound as good.

Massive?

I'd go with scrap yard(bend+), Magyr, Modern Talking, ect. to get that grinding sort of voice.

Also just learned recently that using envelopes instead of lfo to make wobbles makes it more clean.

Just go on YouTube and look up tutorials on Massive.

Massive is pretty much all I ever use for brostep. When I make the "classic" or "old school" dub, I use Albino 3 or Sytrus.
