FL Studio issue..

Hey, my computer recently mucked up.. (I believe it's the motherboard.. Sad.. )

So I've been without producing for a bit, but now I'm on a Laptop and I've gotten FL Studio again, and been searching for samples and such, and I've gotten some decent material to work with, so I'm ready again!

But problem, when I load a sample into the sampler in FL (.Wav file into Sampler channel) It sounds fine in the little preview at the bottom when you click the Waveform, but when I lay it out in the step sequencer, and hit play, it sounds completely different! Lower in pitch actually.. I adjusted a few things and got it to sound normal, but it just messes up again?

This only happens with certain samples? Example; I'll load two instances of the Sampler channel, load a HiHat into one, and a Kick into the other, I lay them out in the step sequencer and they sound fine... Okay so now I want a snare, so I load up another Sampler channel in there.. And load a Snare sample into it, I lay it out in the step sequencer how I want it, and it comes out lower in pitch, than in the preview of the clip?

This is probably something simple, but I'm missing it... I guess a few weeks without producing can fuck you up ;/

Cheers! Someone give me a solution quick! I'm dying to start again! :D

try the reset button above the piano roll on the misc tab in the sampler

when you load the sample into the sampler, open the little tab with the keyboard on the bottom. Along the top of the actual keys there will be one of them highlighted in orange. That is the note that the sample is. So if you lay the sample in the piano roll on that note it will sound the same as the preview.

yeah what stinjee said, or you could right click on C5 to reset the pitch to normal.

If the sample comes from a file with tempo information it'll stretch it to the tempo of your project. Just right-click the time knob in the sampler and press reset.

yeah always make sure c5 is highlighted, if not right click it, and always right click the "time knob and reset it. sometimes it likes to move itself.
