dunno but if you have es1 thats all you need to make killer basslines. es2 is a little better i guess for some stuff. still don't understand the sculpture or ultrabeat synths. you'll get further mastering one synth than fumbling around on a bunch. or so i hear over and over

Logic Express can still run other AU synths and effects that aren't from Apple. There are loads on the net.

I use logic express. There is so much you can do with it, the only problem being the lack of a fully working sampler. I suggest you master express before upgrading or whatever.
you'll find the es1 awesome for creating synth sounds and blines as someone said, and the effects on express are sweet too.

thing is the synths r pretty sick, but i need some of those rhode organ / organ ones cos they r definetly my favourite... anyway, anyone got any decent sites where i can download such synths or where i can also find drum hits?cos another problem with logic is its lacking in drums where as in reason u got hundreds of snares, kicks etc etc...

What's not to get about Ultrabeat? It's kinda like a Roland step sequencer drum machine with synthesis. A lot of people don't realize that you can program a beat 808/909 style and just "drag" the sequence to the arrange page. Down in the bottom left there is an option. You can also just replace the built-in sounds by loading your own samples. No manual huh?

ive been wondering if you can load ultrabeat and sculpture as individual components. that is, take them pro and then drop them into your component folder in express. does that sound crazy?

Haha no not crazy, but sadly I doubt this would work. I'll give it a shot to check it out, but I'm pretty sure Logic Express's cut down engine wouldn't support the demands of such a plugin
