Personally the punches in hip hop are sometimes harder but the rattling basslines in dubstep just takes the cake. In Canada everyone I've seen plays hip hop in their cars, no dubstep appreciation here What do you guys think?

actually i noticed a lot of Jeezy records have amazing sub and really great mixes for the soundsystem enthusiast. But i mean... best bass music... for a car system (which i LOVE) ... according to most DSF users..... probably gonna vote dubstep, no?

tbh car systems is what got me into bass in general! got me into hip hop, playing bass guitar, learning about synths, and eventually i ended up here

In all seriousness though i mean i presume you mean like recent hip hop with 808s and shit, not old style cos that didnt have much bass really. if you think, the sub is a sine, and so is the 808 so the bass should be pretty much similar, just in hip hop its the kick to so its more punchy, instead of in dubstep the punchy kicks are separate from the bass. when you get those long prolonged sub notes tho, that feels like more intense bass though on a big system as it doesnt let off! it just keeps on with the pressure! like in basscannon

Yeah Tical and Ol' Dirty Bastard's first album have some nice bass.

But almost any Gucci Mane/Young Jeezy/OJ da Juiceman/Lil Wayne mixtape is gonna have way deeper bass. BBRRRRR

While I can't really argue with the bass, the fact that listening to most of that shit requires putting up with barely functioning retards mumbling in your ear is pretty much a deal-breaker for me

All about that slow 90's Houston vibe... That's what led me to dubstep in the first place. Nice and slow, thick and bassy beats without any idiots talking nonsense over them.
