Hello, i need some help with a song. Im trying to do a remix on a black ops izan zombies song.
I believe its in the range of 175-180. trying to get the 138-141 bpm.
I was wondering if their is a way to extract a synth, without just cutting a part? or to slow down the beat?
This would be great if anyone can put any input towards it, thanks!

There would only be a great sounding way if you had the track with just that synth missing, because you can do the phase inversion stuff then.

Well, when you have, say, an instrumental of a track and the full track you inport both in your daw and play them simultaneously, but you apply "phase inversion" on the instrumental track (in FL it's pretty easy, it's right in the sampler options). What happens then is "phase cancellation" meaning that the instrumental track and the track with the vocals somehow "neutralize" (can't think of a better way to describe it right now) each other and you are left with just the vocals.

Awesome man, thanks for the tip! So I got a harsh synth, and i want to make it blend it without fading it. any ideas?

Hmm no, sry, I don't really know a way how to extract it while keeping it sounding nice. You can try to look at where the synth hits and EQ the rest of the song out, but I don't really think you can get great and clear sounding results.

It's not the song im trying to extract, it a synth i created, was wondering if there was anyway to blend it in with the rest of the mix?

Ah okay, have you tried putting some reverb to it to make it fit?

Phase inversion is very dirty and will frustrate you more than inspire, i have beent here man done that.

Try to find stems/recreate the line at 140 or chop it up heavily could work too. We cant jsut take single instruments out of a song and retain any amount of quality. Cant ask for the eggs back after you bake a cake, just like you cant pull indiviudal sounds out after the mixdown.

You can look for the MIDI online, but it sounds like an obscure song, or you could try a "cut and paste" bootleg style job. (clue's in the name)

Melodyne is probably the only way you're going to able to do this (phase inversion? Have a word, like a synth less version of the track is going to exist ) without contacting the producer directly and getting some stems.
