I don't get how it works there with healthcare... what happens with A&E? Let's say a homeless person gets hit by a car, what happens then? Surely there are people which simply can't afford to pay?

I think they still treat you in an emergency but i believe if you need something like an organ transplant or any kind of long term treatment you just get left to die. Might be wrong

They can't refuse to treat an emergency. There's "free healthcare" or at least cheap as shit healthcare about in various forms to those who need it. A friend of mine was kept in hospital for several weeks with loads of tests done on him and only had to pay a few hundred. He was able to prove he truly couldn't afford it so the costs were dropped to a fraction. I asked him about it several months later and he said he still didn't pay. Not sure if he ever did. Not saying it's that easy for everyone, but it's not unheard of.
