Purchased this some weeks ago, it finally arrived in the UK yesterday and It arrived by courier this morning. Had to transfer it to it's new cage which was quite scary ... but I'm alive.
I'll have more picture later, very busy at the moment.

recluse right?
i live in the pennsylvania 'burbs, just at the foot of a mountain, in a basement apartment. Sincerely feel your pain.
They're terrifying arent they?

No, it's a Sicarius Terrosus, worse than a recluse. There is no anti venom and death is almost certain if you get bit, or you lose a limb. But, they are very docile and only 2 bites have every been recorded, 1 was death, and 1 lost an arm.
I want a recluse though. Maybe you could catch one and mail it over :p Recluse is DWA in the UK, but I have no license for one yet.
Very scary spider though and I feel your pain mate. I know someone that was cleaning the garage and found 14 of them in plain sight. No idea how many were hidden, but people just live alongside these things. Bloody crazy.

actually since "deadliest" is a word, "most deadly" is inherently incorrect. Unless you use it as a pompous sounding colloquial adjective... "My, that spider is most deadly, isn't it!"

How can they say it's the deadliest then if only 2 bites have ever been recorded? A 2-0 record isn't that impressive.
Also, does it fucking love cocaine?

Because of the studies that have been done on their venom and the tests they ran in labs on animals.
They're not so easy to come across as the brown recluse or the black widow, so bite reports are not as common.

Ah you have it then. Is that your hand beside it? Looks small, which imo is scarier than it being huge with it being so venomous. At least the huge fuckers are easily spotted when they are crawling all over you.

woah, GV1 delivers.
now you need a sydney funnel web spider (Atrax robustus)! you need an agressive spider, none of that shy stuff.
anyway, take a video of yours in action!

The Atrax is on the DWA list. When I get a license I will seriously look into these, my friend has 2 already. He's also got this lethal centipede that's highly venomous.
The brown recluse, brazillian wandering and the atrax are amoung my favorites. ]
People question why? It's mad. I couldn't tell you. I hate house spiders, send the shivers up me, but I am attracted to any spider that does not reside in the UK. The dangerous ones are great because they will never be held, so if you're going to have a spider that can't be held you might aswell make it a dangerous one. Give yourself a challenge and up your spider caring xp.
It's nice to show these hated spiders some appreciation because they are beautiful.
I'll get some vids up soon, he's being lazy at the moment. I'll do a photo of him half buried under the sand in a sec.
