Here it is rendered a little bit more.

Woha what program did you use for your drums at the start? they were solid.

I just used the standard ableton drums actually. Just kind of messed with them and tuned them. I'm gonna still work on the whole thing, like getting some more sub bass into the drums and toms. This was just like my first go at the whole project without diving deep into the mastering stuff. Do you know a good VST for drums?

I've been using Vengence VSTs. They have been serving me well for about 3 songs now. They have a lot of samples to choose from. It's definitely worth checking out.

I switched the song up and mastered it a little bit more. Tell me what you think of the whole song in general?

it sounded good but the drop just kind of flops in. might i suggest putting a pause in between build and drop. really nice intro though.

Going off of what Audilepsy said, it does kinda sound like the drop just flops in so a gap like he mentioned would help that out. Also I would try to add in some sub-bass during the drop and possibly a stereo widener to really give the drop a huge feel to it. Still really diggin' the way all the drums sound...snare could be brought up a tad though. Drums are mega solid still though in my opinion.

Alright cool! If any of you guys wanna add onto it and throw that in there by all means feel free. I use ableton and can send you the entire thing if you want to collab on the thing. How would I go about widening the stereo more?

P.S. do you like the drop in general, or should I make a different one? I was going for like a peaceful intro with the samurai getting ready vibe, then throws down Afro Samurai style. If you guys wanna make a drop maybe we can use that?

here's one method of getting a very (VERY) wide stereo sound, this is called the Haas Effect.

1. take the track you want widened and duplicate it
2. pan both tracks hard right, hard left
3. do a 5-30ms delay on one track.

i'm using cubase and use the plug-in cloner which does this automatically for me and has more options, for instance duplicating the sound 4 times with a delay and pitch on each duplicate.

so what you could do is:
make the haas effect while keeping one mono track that is in dead center.

hahaha i'm not giving out all my tricks .

but i will say reverb and stereo delay are the 2 effects i use the most

I think Aud hit the nail on the head. Also if you use Massive as your synth it has an effect built into it called Dimention Exspander which does the stereo thing for you. I tend to use that slot instead of adding on to the track in the mixer.

Actually I've found either the chorus or stereo delay set at 32/2 on one side and 32/3 on the other does a better job than the dimension expander. An if you think about it a stereo delay set with a very fast delay is the haas effect, kinda

Sick guys. I made that wobble in massive from scratch and completely forgot about the dimension expander. But I do think that the delay route is the best way. It really does sound a lot better. Just more full "track" wise. Thanks you guys for the input, really helps a lot and I appreciate it. Be sure to stay in touch and let me know how you guys are doing.
