Quick Question About Audio Inputs/Outputs

Safe Forum. How do I change my audio out to a line in on my laptop? I'm running Windows 7. Thanks in advance for any help

Never considered it possible (though that doesn't mean it isn't) - ask in the production forum and go searching the internetz... wouldn't be surprised if it required fiddling with your laptop's hardware though

I know it sounds fucked up. But on my old PC you would just plug in say a pair of headphones and the soundcard setting would open up asking what you had just plugged in. And from there you could change all the ports from headphone to Line-in or line-out or speakers or whatever. So I'm sure its possible

you should have a mic line in which is your line in

they are usually right next to eachother

what kind of laptop do you have?

I honestly dont think that is possible (via software)

Sounds like you would have to solder some stuff internally.

Realtek on-board sound are sort of cool if you like notifications !
You need to rick click soundcard and tell your 'Recording devices' to 'DEFAULT' the correct source.

I thought mic inputs were buffered with a preamp to bring them up to line level? You could check it out and maybe disable the internal preamp if it's in the signal chain to stop it clouding the signal more than needs be
