I've only heard this through headphones, i know the mix is terrible. bass is probably way too high, my sennheisers dont have the greatest bass repsonse, their just cheapo ones. and my kick drum is way drownd out. but its my first song ever, would lvoe some feedback, im new to this community but will be posting further work in the near future. will return feedback!
lookin for some creative feedback, as well as any other critiques of course.
Soundcloud
kind of a downtempo and super grimey type of shit.

You have some great ideas in there man an it sounds pretty good for a first track...better than my first track haha. Though as you stated the mix does need to be worked on, the drums really need to cut through more. It definitively has some potential!

Hey thanks man! youre literally the first person to judge this track musically haha. I know the mix is terrible, the drums are atrocious. I have no monitors, its really a struggle. I come from an artistic background rather than a pure musical background, so i focus more on the creative side and dont put as much time into mixing as i should.
All your stuff sounds great tho, and really cohesive tracks, super deep shit. Like i said im new to this board, but ill be posting some more stuff soon, i got some rly cool kinda heavier shit in the works.

I like it dude, you definitely got some deep sub work going on but it's drowning out the kicks, try side chain compressing you sub bass to the kick to let them stand out more, and raise the levels on them a bit, but like above post said, great ideas in there man, can't wait to hear more from you man!

Thanks a bunch to both of you! I couldnt agree with you more on the bass issues. I do have my sub and my synth sidechained to my kicks', just need to lower the threshold and do some eq'ing. I spend all my god damn money going to shows so I havent been able to get some monitors haha, but I'm working on it. I'll repost later with a better mix, I just really wanted to get some creative input, I have no partner and no scene with which I make my music in, so I'm reaching out for feedback!
Thanks to both of you so much! Ill be on here on the future and will have more to post and more feedback to give! cheers!

no problem you would e helping me out by commenting on mine

haha that is if you have some sort of sub (very subbass oriented) but yeah you will notice monitors will help you a lot, if oyu have just normal speakers there can be a DB offset so it may be a +/- 10 pitch in different low quality sapeakers so even if oyu were mixing your song to sound good on those speakers they will sound different on everyone elses systems, It is also good to establish a room with your song so if someone is listening to oyur song they will know how wide or small the space of the song is

Well I like what i hear out of my headphones, Ill have to wait til im around a sub to get the full thing, i could definitely sense some unexpressed sub in there. Super spacey and minimal, very chill and relaxing. Good mixes, i just thought some of the chimes were a TAD too high on the top half, but nothing really distracting. Interesting stuff man!

Yeah dude this is awesome for a first track.
Whats been suggested already is the way to go man, especially beefing up those drums.
It'll sound sweet as with some work man.

Hey, thanks for the feedback. As for your track. i think its not badly put together for your first tune. In my opinion the arrangement is probably the strongest thing you have going on here. The delay automation keeps things interesting and your build up works well. I personally am not a fan of your lead in the into. that squeeky glitchy sound. I also don't like the note sequence of the lead either. i think if there was a more melodic lead and maybe a pad or something it would tie this tune together a lot better. That being said if i we're you i would probably just take this information and move on to the next track. I spent about 2 or 3 months obsessing over each of my first 2 or 3 tunes and it wasn't worth the time. No matter how much you obsess over this tune in a few months down the road your going to producing way better tracks anyway. SO yeah all in all not bad, and keep it up!

Thanks to all of you for the feedback!Really appreciated!
@rainbo: I too was kinda uneasy about the note sequence - AND the intro is a little weak in my eyes. I did spend some time on the arrangement, but I did put it up a little early because i wanted some feedback on everything else (Mainly the arrangement - so I appreciate the compliment!). To be entirely honest, I'm not happy at all with the intro. And as for the note sequence, I'm not entirely chippy about it, but it was the first thing I laid down for the track, and so I was reluctant to change it, and it threw off the whole tune whenever I did. However, I will be going back to it and mixing it a lil better, cutting the drums through, and will probably tackle the melodic issue. I definitely understand what you are saying in terms of moving on, but I just want something I can be happy about.
You see, the first version I had was REALLY gnarly, super wonky stuff. The first bass drop was a crazy talking, screaming arepggiated weirdness. But, I toned it down to just a flat saucey bassline so I could put the emphasis on the second drop, which is really my favorite part of the song. So I'm still considering resampling and incorporating the first gnarly bassline somehow, if I can do so cleanly.
Oh, and I REALLY like that squeeky sound you refer too. It's not very noticeable during the bass but it TOTALLY fills up a much needed space in the song.
Thank you very much Bad Attitude and Refuzed! Stay tuned I'll be posting some more in progress works in the very near future! I might just throw up a sample of the first bassline and see what people think.
P.S. I appreciate the Mods editing my thread title, but my name is not MMMMyap hahaha, I just did that making a soundcloud real quick so I could get some feedback.
