Why is it so many people just want to recreate and not create new sounds and styles of music? I know there are some really talented producers everywhere across the world, but so few people are willing to try something new it seems to me. This is either a "I'm on my high horse" rant or "I'm being a old git" rant. I havn't decided yet.
Basically, post up here your tracks that you feel are completely different and have no clue as to what you'd even categorise it as. Either tracks you have made or someone else has made. This is a song I'm really feeling at the moment.
From Waking Life:
"What are these barriers that keep people from reaching anywhere near their real potential? The answer to that can be found in another question and that's this: Which is the most universal human characteristic: fear, or laziness?"

Fear is definitely the most universal characteristic. Very few are 100% fearless, most, when given the opportunity, will be lazy.
And yeah nnny, I reakon that does! Feels like I should be floating out on some foggy seas somewhere! Lovely track.
And I think I'm just being an old git lol. Here's another track I found today. Kind of needs mixing out after 3 mins as is quite repetitive, but has such an ill style throughout it.
In the same vein that some people refuse to step outside the "BOX" there are equally people who refuse to step into a "BOX". At what point can we jsut enjoy music regardless what "BOX" or lack of "BOX" to put it in? Regardless the motivation of the artist? Regardless of social stigma? Regardless the financial backing of the track?

ull find many producers use aliases to step outside their box. and what exactly is the box in the first place, some people are happy just doing what they think they re good at??? in other cases, it may be because there is a certain expectation to produce a certain style of music by label managers (curse the lot of them!) and fans alike. u cant just invent a new sound anyhow, it evolves organically such as future garage>>>future jungle>>>future funk etc etc.
Don't really know if it's 'out of the box' enough but it was something completely different for me. Especially that drum arrangement was something new.
I currently have a plan in my head that I'm hoping will be out of the box, can't wait to work on it.
my music is starting to remind me nothing which I think is a good thing.
Electric Head that is sick!

Some really cool tracks in here especially Electric Head & Epochalypso
Heres one of mine, I at least like to think its a little different. Soundcloud
Metallic Wah Wah Snare that you find in Dub Reggae, Operatic Vocals, Some Electric Guitar bits and pieces of slide guitar often, with drums based around an 808 but with plenty of other stuff going on, lots a dubby techno sound synths. I'm pretty happy with it anyway.
Don't forget to start following on soundcloud and facebook if you like the tunes
