Positives:

The best positive I can give this track is, it stays interesting and lets be honesrt that is pretty much as good a compliment you can get.
The tune keeps a nice shuffle throughout, like a movement, if I can tap my foot to it, I don't like it and this passes the test.
Some real interesting noises in there and they all gel well together.
I'm quite biased on this review as I quite like my electro and house music along with loving dubstep, ticks a lot of boxes.

Negatives:

In my opinion (and it may just be my opinion) the snare sits too high in the mix to make the impact I'd like it to. I like a snare with a little clout without being overwhelming.
The synth noises you have made are interesting definitely and they sound cool too but I think you need to cut off some of the highest frequencies as they are a little bit too rough on the old ears. I mean on my monitors they it is just a little nag but on a proper system those frequencies would be a bit of a problem.

Overal, I like this tune actually because it is dirty but at the same time it is different... and for me, things really need to get a bit different at the moment.
Look forward to hearing more stuff.

Thanks a lot for the feedback!

That's really the thing, I've yet to hear any of my tracks on a proper sound system and I'm not really sure how they'd be represented mixing-wise. That said, your insight on that is really helpful! Thanks again :)

(bloody internet lost my post  Here we go with a smaller version of what I wrote)

B-Frank's right - initially put it down to 'morning sydrome': after cross referencing I find the highs very abrasive to my ears - especially the sound that quickly comes in and goes @0:59

As a whole, this for me is a great bridge between Hard Dance and Dubstep, love the intro and the second drop is sick! ;) Think the intro synth could have a growing articulation by automating a transient designer? Flux do a free one or you can buy the reknowned SPL one(s).

For me the sample fading in @0:42 could be brought forward perhaps to replace the piano preceeding but more so as to not conflict with the vocal sample which for me should be heard dry? Think the vocals over all could come up around 1-1.5dB and the bass .25-.75dB (as the mix currently sits)

The synth @0:56 is sick, would like to hear more of it, with a shuffling BD for impact?

All in all, I love it.

Kind regards,

DJ Artery
