What up DSF. Long time lurker, first time poster.
I was shocked to learn recently that Kill The Noise uses Reason to produce dubstep. Have you heard his remix of Spitfire or Never Will Be Mine? holy shit this guys knows his production.
His growl synths are clean and crisp, yet dirty without being muddy. They have just enough crunch without sounding too overdriven. The main thing that strikes me is the movement he gets with them.. they're modulating in so many different directions it's ridiculous.

I can't even come close to getting that kind of tone or movement in my growly dubstep synths in reason. Anyone have any tips or techniques?

P.S. for the fuckheads who are gonna go all "brostep is for cigarettes" on me, I actually dislike traditional dubstep. i need my music to be loud and heavy as fuck. :)

post this in the How to Make a sound thread.
And try not to call people fuckheads before they even try to help.
You`ll get nothing that way.

learn about
- multiband processing, especially distortion
- resampling
- layering
- using multiple filters and eq's and tons of other fx all automated to work together
