So, it's December 1st, one month before the big Twenty-Twelve.

What do you wish to accomplish, production wise, by the end of the month? And what part of production are you going to be learning / working on the most?


I myself wish to finish at least one song by the end of the month, that sounds half decent.. I've already started on the venture, it's actually going quite well, I've come up with something quite better than any of my previous stuff :] .. I think I'm actually getting somewhere now!

I mainly want to work on creating unique sounds, because I've noticed a lot of the sounds I create come out sounding the same sometimes.. But I'm also getting better at that, I believe fear was holding me back.. Fear of stepping outside of the box, and trying new things.. Also laziness ;D

So yeah, let's hear what you're working on this month, and what you wish to accomplish!

Been busy lately with 'other' activities, so getting back under the production bus sounds nice.
Going to try and finish a 4track EP before the end of the year.
Create something memorable for both the listener and I.
Gain some more listeners and make new friends.
Meet a girl...

Oh man do I know this all too well!

i'm gonna work on my eq and compression, and alternative sound synthesis techniques [unusual cv routing etc]

also wanna get a 4 track lp released start of next year, so for rest of this year im gonna be putting shit together and sending out a few tunes to labels etc to try get me a propa release down.

also looking to get some collabs sorted on my hiphop/grime productions with some emcees, got a couple of names down to send beats to etc so should be all good

i'm gonna get shit loads of samples/ also try save up for some monitors

I dream of having a release on an actual label someday.. Hopefully that day comes sooner than later!

That's been one of my focuses also, finding samples.. It's fun, but time consuming ..

I still don't have monitors, sadly.. Maybe San'Dad'ta will get me some.. I doubt it

lol santa stopped giving me presents last year onwards- i'm just not eating to save money

-buy proper studio headphones
-format my HD/reinstall everything
-sort my sample library
-learn reaper again from the ground up with video tutorials to get a cleaner workflow
-start field recording again (it's that time of the year, where the birds are gone and no one's outside at night)
-start archiving all the sounds/riffs/patterns and loops i make in .wav and .mid format so i have a quickstart library to use when i feel like it (and a more consistent sound)

and mekk sum choonz of course

- Making a conscious effort to put in an hour of studio work a day, every day. Just finished my grad class for the semester, so I have a little more free time after work now.
- Revisiting two older tunes that I think are "almost there" and seeing if I can push them the last bit to be what I feel is demo worthy.
- Finish up two newer projects. Kind of split between writing 170, 140 and 125.
- Figure out who to send the demos to.
- Make some new samples and patches, to build up the portion of my library that is my original stuff.
- Put in more work with my E-MU and see what more I can learn.
- Outside of music, I'm making myself swim laps two to four times a week.

The only thing I plan to do in December is to spend as much of it drunk as possible.

Get that YouTube project up and running with Chad and ce.

I dunno, invent a new genre?

I want to finish my 130/UKFunky EP.

I aim to have my first vocal song at least written and sent to my vocalist by the end of the month, but work hours have grown (Christmas in a retail job, eh?).

Then maybe have it 100% finished, that'd be nice. Some remixes for locals bands too maybe if I'm not too tired after partying, working and seeing the missus.

-finish the tune i've started
-do the 48hr contest
-induce more of those giddy feelings you get when you make a cool new sound or an idea comes together
-get hammered.. often

Find as many jazz piano and drum samples as humanly possible

Gonna try to finish my newest WIP, but it's going really slow.. :/

i'm playing video games, maybe i'll work on some new tunes

Hopefully finish a song thats longer than a minute and its something i like

I want to meet a partner. in any sense of the word, really

start my first collaboration with someone on the forums and get the track released!
