Collecting Stuff

I recently did a blog post about my favourite designer, Eric Nitsche (
LINKY) and after spending hours trawling through his stuff decided to try and find some for sale on line.
eBay had some of my favourite pieces that appeared as ads in magazines in the 50s/60s and I just spent £30 or so quid on some beauties -
This led me on to
this eBay store which has some of the coolest looking art I've seen in a while (mainly in the nerdier categories - Space travel, Tech, Computers etc..) and will surely lead to my bankruptcy and a bright future begging on the streets with 'hungry & homeless..' scrawled on the back of a 1972 Boeing advert.
I also collect tiny bits of material (paper, card, cloth etc) with patterns on from anywhere I see them, I've got about 20 or so and want to make some sort of migraine inducing brain melt out of them when I have enough (100 or so maybe). Also have lots of 'things sealed in plastic' that look great
Any other Ninjas have odd collections ? Not just creps and hats but weird stuff...

i used to collect stones when i was younger.
never knew why, ended up just putting em back on the driveway where they belong.
i have quite a large collection of empty clipper lighters tho. when they're empty rather than refillnig em i put em with the rest and buy a new one, has built up quite a lot

Not weird but I collected the Mr.Jago Camobots. Got some 1 off customs from the man himself. I'm horrendously skint atm and trying to sell them though

I'm not sure if collecting vinyl, movies or video games counts as I don't do it with some kind of completest kind of thing going on.
However there is a couple exceptions being that I obsessively buy any Iron Maiden or Black Sabbath I can get my hands on.

My roommate collects everything. I am almost positive he has OCD. Unopened toys, multiple DVDs of the same title, other crap that I can't tolerate. Glad he got a storage. The only cool thing he has are power ranger helmets. I swear when he dies, I get dibs and will sell them. They're like $300 a pop. I could have two grand easy. I let go of things easily. I have magazines of the Mars Volta that I'll let go eventually. I don't have obsessive tendencies. Sometimes I hate myself for donating things but if I feel it served its purpose for the price I paid for, gone without thinking twice. Not photos though. I hold on to those forever.
