Hip Hop inspired dubstep?...

Hello all,
Hopefully I don't get trolled to oblivion, I know you alpaca fuckers love to hate (which is actually one of the reasons i find this forum so fun sometimes...), but I'm actually curious as to everyone's opinion on this stuff.
Lately I've started getting into artists like Gladkill, NastyNasty, Minnesota, MartyParty, Deathstar (Minnesota + MartyParty), and Guttstar.
They're certainly not deep dubstep, or dungeon, or dubby at all, but I wouldn't classify them quite as "bro" either. Some of the stuff is more aggro than others, but for some reason it doesn't fit the bill for me.
The drums, like brostep, are simple, but they're not the huge KICK SNARE KICK SNARE that I associate with it. As well, the basses are quite synthetic sounding, but they're not screechy and crap, more just... synthetic.
It almost seems like it's a fusion of hip hop inspired beats and dubstep... It's got the sub, it typically has a focus on the bassline, and the drums are halftime around 140 BPM, but the rhythms are sort of straight 8th, and slightly funky.
I've started to love this stuff, just wondering what your thoughts are.
Here's some examples of songs if ya'll haven't heard and want to have context for what I'm talking about:
Soundcloud
Soundcloud

Sidenote: Soundcloud This is my WIP attempt, I know this should belong in the collab section but if anyone likes it I've been hard pressed to find anyone who would want to work on this stuff with me.
