Hi

I've been mixing for quite a while now and producing for the last year but still to this day I havn't found the perfect combination of Speakers, Sub-woofer and Amp for connecting to a mixer (preferablely Numark X5 / DJM-800) for a bedroom/studio.

When producing I will use my Logitech z-5500 desktop system which is fine for connecting to the MAC, but when it comes to thrashing out a filthy max volume mix up I want to know whats the best set-up for the decks including Sub and Amp?!

Mixing and producing I can talk all day, as for sound/audio setup Im abit of a n00b lol, so personal and expert opinions welcome! I think the main point is what can handle the bass for a professional set-up.. Also if i've missed any basics on the topic of audio setup I welcome the advice

Yeah I can easily find a decent pair of monitors but whats the best speceific combination of speakers sub and amp in yours and others opinion. We're looking for crisp sound from the speakers, a decent sub that can handle deep loud bass and an amp that works well with these desired speakers and sub.

And the buget let's say up to £600 but it's flexible and prefferablely lower as not everyone has £600 to throw about these days lol

ok that's a nice budget. you could go for the powered krk's and sub. no amp needed

If its for dubstep, i would definitely use the built in speakers on my laptop - awesome bass.

They look pretty tight, do you use them yourself? and I take it amp is built-in then?

i don't own em but have heard the power that can come out of them.

yeah, powered monitors = built in amp

Yo just checked the KRK's and they look very good in my eyes.

I think the speakers and sub together will end up costing slightly more than £600 so I reckon if we scale down the budget slightly so its a more affordable for most sort of budget but at the same time trying to get as close to the quality of the KRK's as possible.

The reason I'm banging on about this is because who ever I seem to ask say they are not sure and that their own speakers can't truely handle the bass of dubstep!

get the next size down krk's? most em come in 5,6,7,8 inch drivers

best proper system? Really never been less than awed by a funktion 1 rig.

Surely you cant buy 2 monitors and a sub by Dynaudios for £600 ?

a, subs are mostly useless for production, and b, buy used.
