Favourite spectrum analyzer vsts?

Hey, whats everyones favourite spectrum analyzer? I'm currently trying melda productions manalyzer. Its really good - tons of features, but is quite cpu intensive. Adds about 10% onto cpu usage on a core i7.

This analyzer lets you see the notes that your music is peaking at, and also breaks down a piece of audio into its root frequency. Very useful for me, as i'm still learning what different frequencies sound like, and find it hard to work out keys of different things. I'm hoping in a few years i won't need any help as my ears will be trained, but for now it helps.

So are there any out there like this one? I've tried the rndigital inspector xl, which is a bit dated now. i've also tried the waves analyzer but i don't like it. horrible display, and not many features. and i've tried the flux analyzer, lovely looking but it needs a dongle which i refuse to use just for an analyzer, plus it makes you install the bonjour service, which runs on your system permanently at startup, again i refuse to do that just for a vst.

So what other choices are there? Am i missing a really good one?

i use blue cat's freqanalyst, its free, its not intense at all (under 1% cpu for me & 0.0% when there is no sound signal on that channel), its very accurate + you can use the threshold knob to not show certain frequencies on the display that are under a certain level of db. when doing this it shows the peak levels only and makes them dead obvious by making them appear as long narrow cliffs rather than one big hill of the whole spectrum. there are other interesting features on it too e.g. zooming with 1 mouse click and also transparency to fade the vst. id recommend checking it out.

roger nichols ixl spectrum analyzer

apparently you can't get it any more, but the bar view in that makes a lot more sense to me than SPAN's and freqanalyst's unevenly spaced out graphs

is FL's Wavecandy spectograph any good? I use Voxengo Span, but I'd really like something like wavecandy's spectograph thats free.

I just decided to start using an out of the box plugin to monitor my EQ spectrum

Tried out a few but I've really stuck with fab filter's pro-q for the last month or so.

yeah i've tried the inspector xl before, i really liked it but it doesn't have too many features compared to the melda m-analyzer. i was hoping to find one with similar features but a bit lower cpu. i find the note analysis really useful, it also shows the frequencies on the peaks, plus you can have the sonogram in the background, and switch between 8 views quickly. its the best analyzer i've used, i just don't like it slowing down my system. i suppose its the price to pay for having the features.

i just tried out mAnalyzer and its less than 1% cpu usage for me when using one instance + your computer is definitely a higher spec than mine.. do you mean its 10% when you use it on all your channels in a project?

yeah it was on a whole project, the cpu jumped up by about 10%. it goes down if i turn the sonogram off(i usually have it slightly transparent in the background). i've emailed them, i'm away from home for a week but i'll try changing setting when i get back. they said it shouldn't take up that much cpu. i forgot to mention that i have super resolution and analytical smoothing checked, i'll try it without and see what its like.
