How do you guys feel about the whole facebook timeline thing? Seems like a way of tracking where everyone is to me. I'm more than a little worried, maybe im just paranoid.
What do the ninjas think?

Im aware of that, but its a big invasion of privacy. I'll probably be delting my facebook if i can't get rid of timeline.

I've said I'll be deleting my account if there's no way of hiding/editing this timeline nonsense. I do have a question though, if I was to setup[ a fan page, would I be able to use that without having a personal page?

Nice avatar^^
I don't like this timeline and will possibly delete my account. I know people who usually moan about Facebook are typically whiny little bitches but this time it has annoyed me. I don't think it's some big 'tracking' conspiracy either and is more a way of Facebook maintaining its freshness/market dominance than anything.
Thinking about it, you could just delete everything from down the years. It may take a few hours but it's your only option.

If I'm publicly viewable I'll 'delete' my account and sign up under a pseudonym

I've had the timeline for months, and I really like it. Finally everyone can know what dates I got glasses and my ears pierced. my cover photo is me on this perfect beach, it looks sick.

I'm not even all that mad at anything facebook does anymore, people get accustomed to it and continue using it. Aesthetically, it looks ass though

fb is an institution now
i deleted it and i dont want it back but im starting to think i'll need it in this age.... some information is unavailable without one, its also like the new yellowpages, i don't get invited anywhere anymore
used to be you needed to be in college to get facebook.. i won't be surprised if in the future you can't get into college without it
governments, agencies, brands, companies etc all have it.. its like the new universe. gonna have its own laws, international borders, etc.
fuck it
i just hope i don't find myself needing to sign up again in order to buy food, renew my drivers license, breathe, and so on.

'the information that you can view on timeline has
always been there' yup.
I read the article and is just seems like bullshit/rumours making something out of nothing 'he >herd< that people can view others private messages', seriously, why would they do that?
Its like when the mobile number thing appeared..people making something out of nothing, it was just down to privacy, you could view that information anyway.

Facebook only has what you put on it...
I quite like the timeline. Most the updates they do are good, people just moan because it's change.
And as Helix said, all the stuff there was already there, and viewable, just accessed a different way. You also get 7 days where timeline is only viewable to you so you can go back and remove any posts you don't want there.

this is the only thing worth mentioning to anyone who has a problem with facebook privacy issues. People need to get their head in the game, it's not that hard to make facebook private.
