About The Artwork
Benjamin Sawyer is a life-long artist that was raised on video games and comic books. While copying his favorite artists like Jim Lee and Brom, he maintained a hobbyist approach to his art throughout high school. After high school came the professional life of food prep and retail, curtailing any real dream of drawing for a living.

Ben entertained a few brief encounters with the artist life while working as a journalist and artist for a St. Louis-based video game magazine, and a production artist for a research firm in Atlanta, Georgia. Both stints were brief.

Fast-forward to 2009. After dozens of jobs Ben finally decided to make something of his trade.Spending nearly two years of unemployment producing self-published work, a semester of school in San Francisco, relocating to Los Angeles, and a few small-scale commissions (and a lot of free work) he finally struck his first contract. A MASSIVE 35-page comic fully paid for by an independent writer from Pittsburgh. The book took five months to complete and Ben had to move back to St. Louis to survive his new, low-income, dream life of a comic artist.

Since then Ben has developed a client base across the country; Doing comics, graphic novels, logos, album art, and poster-sized commissions.
