it's just sad that we can't even use the fucking word anymore. most folks have a distorted preception of what dubstep really is.

True it is frustrating, but we'll get over it. It's still THERE, just not acknowledged by your average mainstream listener. Sone people even like it better that way

My friends who have no taste in electronic music at all think I listen to what they understand Dubstep to be. These are wild times. How could a culture just get flipped like that, is what's happening now, what happened in Hip Hop?
The mayan's might have been correct afterall..

Actually I've been thinking this as well lately...I really don't mind hip hop when it's done good, but it's the fucking hip hop crowd that completely ruins it for me. A total fucking cringfest, just like dubstep...sure there's some really fantastic tunes out there, but then you have to put up with the 99% of the "dubstep" crowd that are just complete fucking tards about life and I just keep on getting more old and jaded...

90s hip hop WAS hip hop...today, drake is representative of what hip hop is. And IMO, thats DEFINITELY not a good thing

Yeah, feeling you on this one. It's either wannabe thugs, hipster garbage like odd future or shit like lil wayne, nicki minaj, wiz khalifa, kid cudi etc.
There are a few ok drake tunes though. But can't take that shit too seriously.

So true i don't mind some brostep but the people, youtube comments, tweens, caps lock, endless remixes, spam and private tracks shared to 3000 people makes you hate it
Tbh the bandwagon hatred for skrillex is bit much. The vast majority of the people on dsf dont like his music (and also dont like him because of it )
so why is he so relevant on dsf.
hip hop has become unbearably egotistical

because every other new person to the forum obviously doesnt read a single thread, come on and starts one about skrillex, expecting none of us to have heard of him before, and hail said newcomer as a legend for bringin us the filthy yoyz.
what the fuck am i doing in general

started off so well rinsing dismantle tunes and other good 4x4 like redlight, even decided we were worthy of computation vip.. then after that first 15 minutes it was just vomit until they finished 25 minutes before they're allotted time (praise the lord, i wouldn't have survived much longer)
although i did enjoy hearing prodigy - smack my bitch up, and although i went to see them play some dubstep (they didn't..) i enjoyed killing in the name of by rage against the machine.
i actually don't think all tracks were skrillex, just wanna be's, there wasn't any really decent trance intro's or anything, and to give skrillex some credit, he can make some ripper intro's, it was all just kick drum buildup drops then just stupid noise with kick, snare, kick, snare, kick, snare, kick, snare.
i was saying to my mate, there is so much brostep/borderline brostep that is produced in the UK that spanks the shit out of american stuff, which i could have managed to enjoy.. ah well.
oh, edit, i saw snoop dogg play, man that guy is dope.

i didn't surface a hate for skrillex / brostep really badly until yesterday, maybe someone will just go pick his house up off the ground and throw it in a river, surely that's going to contain most of his harddrives.
on the topic of hip hop, so true, like all genre's these days basically, it's just a shitty popularity contest, and the stuff that is actually good, still barely compares to the 90's, except a select few artists..
