The UK has a population of ~60 Million people but only a mere 15,000 people have signed this petition (equating to ~0.000025% of the population) I don't think that's an accurate representation of Cannabis users who support legalisation let alone non-cannabis users who support legalisation.
Whatever your views, if you believe in ending prohibition in the UK, then this is our best shot as it stands. You're welcome to be cynical, but please don't let it be at the cost of not even trying.
The more people who get behind this, the more seriously it will be taken. It's easy to ignore 15,000 people, not so easy to ignore 10 Million. At the time of writing we have just under 8 months to make our selves heard.
Please share.
PEACE.

Reminds me of the South Park episode with "If there are any questions, please direct them to that brick wall over there"
....although suppose its worth a go.But I'd say the more effective action would be lobbying and trying to change public perceptions. Government have already said that medical evidence doesn't really play a part in drug laws and that it is a political decision, if they thought they'd gain more votes than they'd lose with legalising then they'd do it.

Genuine question... If it was legal, wouldn't they just maintain the current market value of it? Or more likely increase it. Making it legal seems stupid, not as if you can't get it, and it's usually just met with a slap on the wrist if you're caught. I don't really see the benefit of it being legal?

It's unlikely to be any more expensive as if it were taxed above the current price people would just continue as they are, things tend to be cheaper when not prohibited because you benefit from economies of scale though tax would probably make up the difference. Regulation would mean that product quality increases, no glass for weight and greater variety.

Innit... if we got hold of the details of what the Bullingdon club got up to could we instigate a private prosecution for criminal damage? It's much harder to duck criminal proceedings than civil ones...

I think getting people familiar with the diverse benefits and uses of Hemp first, will eventually help towards reshaping peoples mentality to cannabis.
we all know its a money thing anyway.
But for now , the smokers are gonna smoke either way.
i don't have any though

yeah i reckon the price may go up similarly to amsterdam prices but i would rather have that system because i would rather have a choice of different strains and a choice between sativa and indica. Not only that but it'd be nice to buy some weed or hash and have a cup coffee with friends in a coffee shop. Personally I don't need much a gram of strong weed or 2 grams of really nice hash we set me straight instead, im getting mugged off for weight and quality. I don't know how it is for you but I don't have a choice of the strains I want
