Imagine you one day participate in a big lottery, for whatever reason, and you win 50-100 million £/€.
I don't care what you think about lotteries, but just imagine you did win an amount like that, what would you do?

I'm certain everybody has thought about this at least once in their life, and it probably was one of the most beautiful daydreams you ever had.

Basicly, I would go on an insane shopping spree and buy the following things:
- Equipment for a beast of a computer (imagine: best cpu currently around, 16gigs of ram just because I can, 2x 512GB SSD's, 3TB hard-drives for a RAID1 set-up, ...)
- MacBook Pro with all the options
- Some decent studio equipment such as a decent midi keyboard, a nice external soundcard, a Virus TI, monitors, ...
- New equipment for dj'ing too; Xone:DB4, CDJ's, ... Might even buy a NI Kontrol X1 (scrap the 'might'; I will buy it, I'm a gearslut)
- Generally everything else that will satisfy my material self (because I'm pretty material as you may have noticed by reading this thread)

Then, I would buy a house for my parents and leave them some money so they can pay the bills for a few years. I'd also move out and get myself a nice flat with enough room for all my new equipment.
I would put some of the money on a normal bank account, and the rest in a savings account. Might even keep some cash at home in case another economical crisis kills the banks.
Also, I'd give some money to charities and research funds. I'd certainly give a decent sum to cancer research because cancer runs in our family and it would be nice if there was a cure so in the future, people don't have to experience the pain of people close to them suffering for years under such a terrible disease.

After those sprees are over I would return to being someone who carefully monitors his expenses, because if you run out of $ and you're living like a rockstar, you're in deep shit.
Oh and most important: I would keep some money for a decent therapist in case I tumble into an insane depression like a lot, if not most of the lottery winners do

Oh and I would finally be able to pay back all the beers & drugs I owe my mates

- Put loads of it in savings and live off the interest
- Pay my way through uni
- Buy a house in the posh square near my house
- Give loads to family and friends
- Divide my time between London and Montreal.
- Give money to wateraid and save the children who I only give £20 a year atm

I'd invest 80% of it so I can live without working for the rest of my life. Then buy an ok place to live, build a studio and put on a load of sick nights. Start a label and put out some decent music.

Pretty much what i would do

Would also buy a big ass telescope and build my own observatory out in the middle of nowhere. gives loads of money to family and friends, donate loads to charity etc

- Donate 25% to Guide Dogs For The Blind
- Donate 25% to MacMillan cancer research
- Buy my parents house off them and buy them a nice retirement place somewhere with a shit ton of land for the dogs to run around in
- Buy a place for myself and the missus in London, and another in Madrid
- Save 50% of whatever is left after all of the above into a relatively high interest savings account
- Go on a round the world tour with the missus
- Upon returning, big party for my mates, then business as usual

buy the equivalent value of lube and have a great weekend

25% jimmy fund
25% alopecia research
40% personal use/ family
10% biomedical research (that shits gonna be big return in 5-10 years)

I'd make a point, if possible with media etc., to keep it largely secret. I'd let my family know, of course. Here's how I'd spend it:
- Pay off anything my parents have outstanding and give them a big ass 1 month holiday together in a location of their choosing, because they deserve it.
- Put roughly 50-60% into savings, taking only what I need from my initial winnings to easily cover rent from uni accom, the flat I move into for the next year and of course fun times.
- I'd finish uni, but a fair amount of money would be spent on course texts and so on.
- I'd hire an architect (this would be after uni, when I let myself access the savings) and work with them to design my dream house and build that mothafucka. Pool rooms, attic rooms all that
- Invest in a nice pair of speakers
- Take my family to New York for Christmas, something I've always wanted to do
- Go scuba diving somewhere, I'd research the best place and go there simply cuz money ain't a thang.
- Go skydiving, I hate heights but it'd be something I'd try.
- Travel for a year, probably immediately after uni. I want to go to Australia really bad.

would be tough not to go an a huge spree of buying up all my favorite records as well.

if i won an odd amount (say...52 million, or 103 million) i would whip whatever is on the top, and take all my friends and piss it all away in the most ridiculous way possible.

Actually i've always wanted a castle. Would probably invest in one of those down the line. Get all my crew to move in and throw phat parties

Up to 25% on a place to live in London and my two dream cars.

Whatever's left would get invested somehow, but not in Buy-To-Let or anything... maybe starting a business, maybe backing someone else's business. I'd find it hard to give up working... would definitely need a purpose each day otherwise I could quite easily lose my entire existence to weed and opium.

I would try to avoid accumulating more possesions, I have too many as it is. In fact I would simplify my life and focus on exploring the world before I die.
I would invest in lots of small, cool places in great cities around the world and spend my days travelling between them, just cos.
If I ever got bored I would live in plush hotels for a week or 2 at a time, just to max it out a bit

apart from the finest food, booze, suits and occasional luxuries I would live only slightly more extravagantly than I do now, quality not quantity in everything.

Every couple of years I would invest in lots of kit and go on expeditions to all the places that intrigue me around the world.


I won a tenner last week, it's only a matter of time

Keep it all for myself as a patrimony cuz I'm just liberal like that...
