Dubstep Allstars Vol. 9 (speculation)

As far as I know there's no thread for this yet, so what does everyone think? Who would you like to see mixing the next volume and what areas of the scene do you want to see represented?

I personally think Allstars 8 did a pretty good job of representing the current 'dungeon' side of dubstep, so I'm hoping the next one stays pretty well away from it. I think its about time the deep and soulful scene got some more representation, so it'd be great to see a mix consisting of Phaeleh, Quest, Silkie, Submotion Orchestra, Von D, Author (all woefully underrepresented in the Allstars mixes) and a few others who dabble in this sound like Joker, V.I.V.E.K and of course Mala.

The other thing I'd like to see is a mix focusing on tearout, maybe as part of a 2-disc package, and have it mixed by Jakes, Kromestar, Dark Tantrums or Coki.

Thoughts?

Wouldnt mind Kromestar and Dark Tantrums doing 9 and putting some of their new stuff they made for Anti Social on it.

The founding fathers of dubstep man, Skrillex b2b Timbaland. Seal on mic duties.

Seriously though, I reckon the Anti Social boys deserve a moment in the limelight.

yeah im digging Skrillex b2b Timbaland, FT Mc Jon Davis ofcourse, would be proper vibe!

but seriously, would be pleased if they went dungeon again, same with soul-filled stuff, as much as i'd love to see tearout done, something has me thinking it won't be done.. it would be sick too see Jakes/Kromestar or even Mensah doing a mix for it, but i don't think it would happen.

they could always head back to the All stars Vol. 4/5 direction :w: :w: :w: :w:

yeah, something from silkie or quest would be sick.

personally though i'd be into a dub/roots infused package done by the likes of mala or VIVEK - could be appropriate with the launch of their SYSTEM night as well

This is a great idea, especially after how awesome that Greensleeves compilation was

They should get DJ Wanka to mix 3 straight hours of YouTube remixes of pop songs.

Quest & Silkie / Joe Nice / Mala & Vivek / Kromestar & Dark Tantrums

Any one of these 4 picks would be amazing and they all represent different sounds within dubstep.

Good call!
Would also really love an Allstars by VIVEK or Silkie. Or one by Loefah representing his Swamp 81 sound would be sick too I think.

I agree with the Joe Nice sentiments. The man has been repping since day and like has been said has an eclectic selection. Also I'd love to see more Quest, Silkie, Von D etc but don't forget they did all make an appearance on 7, in fact that style was the main vibe of Chef's disc. If they choose to hone in on one particular style for 9 I would really like for 10 to be a mix of stuff from the Horsepower days all the way through to the multiple styles there are now. Would obviously need to be 2 CDs minimum.

a loefah mix would be dope, but is it close enough to dubstep to come under the dubstep allstars banner do you think?

(not interested in that old 'what is dubstep' genre business, just whether tempa would go down that line for the allstars series)
