Yeah I know this but I was presuming that Tectonic Plates Vol. 3 is going to be a compilation, much like others they have a 45 A and 33 B1 B2.cakeplz wrote:no one presses 33 unless it's necessary...apmje wrote:Favourite Kryptic Minds tune ever. This is soooooo big!

Can you explain in what circumstance it would be necessary to press 33? Also, why do people dislike it / rather have 45? I have a Heny G record that is 33 and I've always wondered why, and what benefit / purpose it would serve over other RPM speeds?cakeplz wrote:no one presses 33 unless it's necessary...apmje wrote:Favourite Kryptic Minds tune ever. 33 allows for a longer tune to be pressed to the record. Like Mountain Dread March, song was too long for 45 so was pressed at 33. The reason people dislike 33 is because most singles are 45 and have one song per side so we all virtually mix at 45 and get used to mixing the record at the speed. 33 can be used in mixing, I know I do it for certain tunes but you need to be careful when pushing the record along to beatmatch as it doesn't take as much force/pressure as 45. Not to mention 33 is usually quieter than 45 because of smaller grooves.Cornbreadddd wrote:Can you explain in what circumstance it would be necessary to press 33? This is not because it's 33 RPM but rather because records that have a 33 RPM side usually has more than one track crammed in there. The louder the track, the more space on the record it needs.apmje wrote:Not to mention 33 is usually quieter than 45 because of smaller grooves.Cornbreadddd wrote:Can you explain in what circumstance it would be necessary to press 33?
