Shit crowd that responds to nothing but bro music, americans i feel sorry for you. No wonder cocks like you know who get all the hype when these kids cant appreciate good music. Respect to darkside though.

yo agree very much with the crowd's bro-fetish at this venue, but from my memory even darkside was a bit disappointing :/ mostly midrange stuff as well, just a handful of proper bass tunes, and this one hot dubreggae joint. honestly the most memorable character was the tri-tip bbq sandwich you could get from next to the bar. surprisingly tasty.

dj craze is the processed cheese that drips from a tacobell chalupa sandwich

I'm not one to bash, but I honestly can't think of any DJ that could have done a worse set. Triple rewinds of tunes that the crowd clearly didn't dig, shitty filters, embarrassing displays of beat juggling. Wasn't this guy a DMC champion? That would certainly knock stage fright off the list of excuses... :?

depends on what shows you go to. obviously the more deeper local artists have fantastic shows but little media. unless you mean crowds for large events like these and then you just have to read the names on the fliers to know what its going to be like. Decibel festival in seattle is amazing, huge and filled with great people, but you are not going to find many people talking about that for some reason... its whatever, in my mind, all shows across the pond are like that DMA show, gunfinger and all

It is true that the heads are becoming outnumbered nowadays, havent been to fwd or dmz for ages so couldnt say what theyre like but from what ive heard things have gone downhill.

I had a blast at SMOG. Darkside WAS SICK! biggest vibes in the place all night. DJ craze messed up a few times, but ive seen him before and he rips it. Felt really underwhelmed going from Darkside to the other acts. I agree with everyone, the US crowd is pure SHIT (especially the shady crowd that the galaxy theater brings in). The crowd was 18+ and a lot of the younger kids were the ones in the main pit acting like fools.

I was really impressed with Darkside though, he killed it proper.

Honestly dont remember much of Bengas set other than when he crowd surfed from the main stage out of the side door of the theater. We linearly all carried him up the stairs and out the door it was pretty awesome.

WOW....really?
Perhaps I should put up a tracklist of the set and you can point out where I went mostly mid-range..... :u:

Los Angeles native here...

I was definitely bummed when I missed Joe Nice at SMOG Sundays not too long ago. However, my schedule allowed for some free time so I headed over to SMOG Sundays this past Sunday to catch Lee's set. I've been an avid viewer/listener of GetDarker, and must say that his set might have aided in some sort of "turning point" for what the usual Los Angeles crowd considers acceptable "dubstep". In no way am I biased towards one persons take on the genre and how they go about expressing themselves with their productions. However, I myself am very much a deep vibe, bass weight influenced producer and find myself in a rut when it comes to finding parties that cater to my preferred sound and environment.

With that being said, I hung back toward the back of the room obersving the crowd during Lee's set and there was a sense of pride that came over me when I saw the crowd open up to the proper sounds Lee showcased. SMOG is doing great things and I hope their influence and strong hold they have on the community here in Los Angles is appreciated the way it should be.

Out to Drew from SMOG and Lee from GetDarker for putting together a much needed international collab, here in Los Angles.
