Hi everyone, im relatively new to producing and im having an issue when i upload my track to soundcloud. It sounds fine when played in ableton and itunes, but as soon as i upload it, it creates a strange and annoying low frequency noise under the main bassline that just makes the track sound like shit. Ive tried messing with the camelphat settings, massive settings, compression settings and mastering, all to no avail. I was wondering if someone knows what causes this problem b.c i know i cant be the only one to experience it. Any tips would be very very appreciated. Thanks in advance guys

When you play it in ableton and itunes, your playing some sort of 320kbps MP3 or a wav or something.
When you paly it on soundcloud, your hearing a 128kbps copy they render.
Dont complain about it, it is what it is, and it prevents piracy of quality copies.

The mp3 encoding process effects very random frequency ranges... Im gonna go out on a limb and assume you can read a spectrograph? These images are very insightful, will explain it, something with alot of presence and content in your song is probably in one of the ranges most effected by the compression in that particular tune...

Yeah, upload it anyway, dont worry, noone expects anything high quality from online streaming players, soundcloud and youtube are just for judging musicality, not mixdowns or anytihng... thats why I wont accept soundcloud links as demo submissions for either of my imprints, too low qual to judge anything technical...
