What are your thoughts on piracy?

I just released an album this month on Bandcamp and having a look around online, I've noticed it is now up all over the internet on several trackers and music sharing forums. But can I be angry? I have pirated all sorts of things in the past, so what right do I have to complain?
Anyone else had this same experience and how did you take it? I guess it's a compliment in a way, because people like the music, but also feel kind of hard done by.
Not encouraging/discouraging piracy here, so I think it is within the rules of the forum to have a fair discussion about it

i predict this thread will move to snh, then back to general discussion, then back to snh; it should also have that 2004 harvard report, sarcasm, seckle, vinyl v cd/mp3 arguments, people arguing, some random guy coming in to say "i don't really care i download all day", people telling him "your attitude is disgusting, that's what is wrong with the entitled generation", then the thread will randomly get locked

Guys, I hear vinyl sounds just the same as CD quality, so why do people buy it if it's so expensive ad u get less tunes?

naaaar mate vinyl is full of 0 and 1 and thus more warmths because digital reproduction on lps allows the sound to be more coloured
this is why 320 pressed to serato always sound better than flacs on cds as you can't really compete with digital surface hiss
edit: wait its the opposite

Fun fact: CDs will allways provide "more" dynamic range than a vinyl copy, especially when it comes to distinct treble frequencies (as found in hi-hats etc). What people love about "dat vinyl sound" is actually an unintended distortion, an error of judgement by the listeners.
That said, pirates are effing stnuc. Vinyl all the way. Support the artist, the manufacturing industry and maintain the love for good music. Spread the word.

Wobbles, if u have a vacuum tube paremetric eq cd player with funktion one soundcard then maybe a cd is lossless, but otherwies vinyl is flac quality (white labels only). Hope that helps you answer.
And yeah man, it's even worse when you see shops selling your releases, and you're seeing none of it haha.
All, I can heartily recommend Davwuh's album by the way, quality release.

Ha! It's all good mate, I can't see this thread going far (I hope not, anyway) and it was worth it just for exfox's summing up.
