Saw him in Chicago on Saturday
He played pretty much NONE of his own music. Even worse his tracks were generic top hits
He played THREE tracks off skrillexs new bangarang (right on time, bangarand, breakin a sweat)
he played Brown and Gammon Blow my mind, he played Roksoniks, he played Ruffneck Bass for fuks sake ( 4 skrillex tracks total) he played Bass Cannon (are you kidding me) and a bunch of others that were just overplayed old tracks from other people. (none of which by the way were remixed or not like he was doing crazy FX or anything)
Idk i was really disappointed. I heard a total of 3 tracks i think were his in his entire set.
My friends say that now that he is with the new label he prob has to do certain stuff but idk i dont want to think that.
just venting and trying to figure out why he would do that. Roots EP and KTN were both awesome albums
I would have been happier if he just played them through lol

This, basically... all those "Bass Kitchen" events in Chicago are laughable. Mids for the kids innit?

I think the main problem here is that it doesn't sound like this guy is BenUFO. Big DJ fail right there. Schoolboy stuff.

Although, the one event Bass Kitchen is putting on that I'm looking forward to is on 3/31 and features Feed Me (meh), Skream + Benga (meh), Plastician, Jackmaster, and Hijack... that will be good. It starts at 7:30 though, so if you want to see Hijack in the early evening it's the place to be... I hate 18+ events.

I saw Feed Me this friday here in Seville, I went because you know, its feed me and we don't usually have such big artist here in our city, but I was very surprised about his set, there was a heavy heavy system and I was very high and I really enjoyed the show and i really got into his sounds....

Feed Me = Spor on a Skrillex / Deadmau5 electro-house tip. Spor is so sick. Apparently he's set to drop an album in August...

he isnt a DJ he is a producer, a new one at that. I dont get why he would play these tracks as opposed to his own if he is trrying to get big?
his albums are great, i dont get it.

Well, if he is playing live that would make him a DJ also.

The moral of the story is that producers shouldn't get booked based on their productions. Let the DJs do the DJ'ing.

Dj's play what they are really feeling at the time, they also generally read the crowd, so i'm sure somebody was enjoying it
as for the mainstream sound, if i'm not mistaken that's his style anyway, it's not like he'd be dropping DMZ dubplates or anything.

I am baffled by this thread.
I have never heard of this bloke but a quick visit to discogs learned me that he was:
A) on the new KoRn record
B) Has had only three releases, none of which saw vinyl
C) He's released on only hideous, I mean truly hideous labels that have not so far released any tune remotely worth purchasing.
D) Has only released one album under this alias, under the critically acclaimed (yes that's sarcastic) OWSLA label.
I mean, certainly, it sounds like it was one of the shittiest sets imaginable, but manage your expectations? By the way, from what I can hear, his album should have been a giveaway and frankly I'm a bit surprised at how you didn't like the set, but did like his album?
