I'm just sayin man instead of trying to rehash dubstep you've already heard thousands of times, make something new.

That's all I have to say on this subject.

Starting something new by going back to DnB, new to me because I've never made it before. :)
Good so far, enjoying it!

dubstep wont be nu for a while dont worry, its only like 8 years old or there- abouts, what i suspect ull get are waves like the detroit artists, ull get a collective of 1st wave artists like scream and benga crew, the 2nd wave like post- dubstep artists and then 3rd wave like who knows artists...etc etc

the second wave of dubstep artists are still growing/evolving in my opinion.

ummm

if anything, we're already in the 3rd wave

first wave was what horsepower/el-b/zed bias etc... were doing

2nd wave would most likely be catergorized as half-step

3rd wave would be whatever this is now we're sitting in... whether it be the bro-cack or that post shit

My main problem that I have with a lot of brostep isn't the actual sound that it creates (I find that some brostep has a time and a place), but rather the general lack of creativity that exists in the brostep scene, as far as I can tell

I doubt there's going to be another wave of dubstep artists... It's dying out already in terms of creativity and originality, I don't think dubstep will even be thought of in 2 or so years. There's only two waves right now. Skream and shit like that, and Excision Datsik Flux Skrillex and shit like that. Skrillex's song Summit from his new album is really good, I think he should either revitalize his dubstep basses or just stick to stuff like With You Friends and Summit. I can't even think of any newer dubstep artists that aren't either ripping off the old style or ripping off the new style.

Rusti has some good shit though but idk if he's classed as dubstep or not. Maybe if Joker came back and actually did some great shit like Watch The Sun Come Up remix.

i dont care what style you make just try to be influenced by music outside of the genre your making. too many cannibals i agree.

but you can put that right across the board with all the sounds withen 'dubstep'

everything is starting to sound 'samey'

bar afew artists, who you would most likely not even classify as dubstep

imo it's gotta get shitty and lofi and dirty to start a new thing. Dubstep is at the PEAK of shimmering production quality. Get a TR-808, a Saw, a Sine, and a Square, and a few guitar samples, and go to work.

Way it is though, any progress is still deemed progress. (However lacking or horrible it may seem)
Even though it could create horrible noise, the processes and techniques could be used another way to make something great.
Moving on isn't the worst idea, but letting it be forgotten is.

To be honest i'm not really looking forward to something ''New'' cause it will just be all those people who shit on people who try and push a genre foward and make something new and exciting. I think it will die out soon enough if people keep up the way they feel about the whole genre itself, as in it should stay underground and all that kinda thing, I'm not saying give it to Justin Bieber and let him take over, I'm just saying openin the fuck up for new things!
