they call it indietronica but i do prefer to describe it as electronic music with a
pop portion for a good measure, personally Junior Boys are my firstly selection and their track
this is goodbye was one of my favourite tracks back into 2006, its a tune that is perfect for the morning when you are driving through the sun shining, 8am vibe.
There are some good artists that you may find interesting to listen, here it is my recommendation.
Fujiya & Miyagi

the swedish crew, great recommendation, really dig their interpretation of heartbeats (josé gonzalez).

They did the original actually. I think Sony ended up funding their record label off the back of the Bravia ad.
But you're right its big!

thought the original it was the one that came straight out of josé gonzalez's hands but in a way of another both are quality though i still prefer the one included at the sony bravia ad (josé gonzalez), big ad anyway.

her voice is superb man.
never heard them live actually, for josé gonzalez hear him live twice, solo and sharing the stage with Zero 7, another big reference.

yup, nowadays the media tends to get a new classification to every piece of music that only has a different riff or a different cowbell playing in the tune. hate it.

Ra! Knife stuff is wicked! I could deal with "pop" being more like this.

Seen the Knife live. Excellent. Shame they apparently won't be bringing much stuff out for a while because the woman is raising a kid

I prefer the Knife's original rather than Gonzalez's middle of the road generic sounding version.

i guess i would call it heavily pop influenced dance? or maybe heavily dance influenced pop.
but i dont know of anything that sounds like either of those groups really, i wish i did, Last Exit and The Warning are probably two of my favourite discoveries this year.
there has been a lot of electronic pop stuff coming out of scandinavia, its worth checking
this thread. it seems less shoe-gazing/brooding and more ditzy/fun (not necessarily a bad thing)
also, very different but similar in the fusion of pop and dance,
Panda Bear - Person Pitch is something i've recently got and loved
oh yeh, and i havent heard it yet but
Matthew Dear - Asa Breed sounds like it is very much in the same thread. His
Leave Luck To Heaven and
Backstroke LPs are also worth checking, although they are for the most part more straight up dance than the pop fusion
