It's just an LFO to filter cutoff.
Usually with LFOs you hear about using a sine wave. This is more of a saw wave.
If you have Massive, change the LFO to a Performer. In the different curves you'll find ones that look spiky at the bottom. That's what you want.

yeah i wouldn't mind a more detailed explanation on how to make that, it's a pretty cool sound
in routing, insert 1 is after filter 1, insert 2 is before filter 1
oscillator 3 bypasses to EQ
in voicing, 4 voices unison, pan position turned on a little less than full inverted
that is the basic idea

I'd upload a patch but your version of massive is old, so
in routing, insert 1 is after filter 1, insert 2 is before filter 1
oscillator 3 bypasses to EQ
in voicing, 4 voices unison, pan position turned on a little less than full inverted
that is the basic idea
cool thanks, ill try that all out after school today

you want to use the performer as your modulator instead of a lfo and use the shape with the most spikes to modulate the cutoff of the filter?
