idk if its just due to idiocy though. Now that I think about it, my cousin (who I live with now) only eats pizza now, and has pretty much done so for his whole life. The kid was always super picky about the food he ate. He won't eat Kraft Dinner...he'll only eat a certain generic brand. Weird shit like that.

Something is legitimately wrong with these people and I want to know what, damnit.

yeah my mate will only eat heinz beans and wont eat any white sauces (mayo etc)

I'm sure there are fairly serious psychological problems at work stemming from bad parenting and some sort of mind-wreckingly tragic childhood trauma, but it's often so indistinguishable from abject idiocy that it's difficult to really tell. Going to The Sun before a psychiatrist is certainly a pointer.
