Can someone explain this to me? I know the sKrriLlrex uses it. And I am guessing Knife Party and KTN to. I have checked out videos and articles on it.

i dont know who sKrriLlrex is, but seeing as your in reason im not too familiar with it, but its basically just a certain curve in the EQ that exaggerates the certain vowel sounds (like the sounds you make when you say your vowels A E I O U), and then in that EQ curve you modulate one or two of the points and it "morphs" the sounds so that it sounds like it is talking.

Im not too familiar with reasons EQ but maybe someone else on here will be..

You could cheat and run it through Thor's Formant Filter (connect the wires)

format filters are a bit limited in my opinion you'll have way more control automating a standard eq plugin. theres not much too it just automate and tweak so the eq points hit in the right sounding places at the right time.
use your ears and maybe throw a limiter on top as it can get a bit loud if you accidentally boost more than 1 eq point in the same spot. also if it doesnt sound brilliant then tweak the initial sound more/use layering to strengthen the harmonics.

to make formants more audible you'll need a kinda granular sound (not referring to granular synthesis), with clearly audible overtones that are kinda spread out if you get what i mean. as if you could hear the single clicks in the top frequency ranges.

honestly tho, automated eq'ing to get vowel sounds that are gonna sound shit anyway cause theyre not layered like an onion is too much effort spent for nothing.

i wouldnt put down the entire technique, it might sound shit if u boost in the wrong places but u have to automate notches as well.
it wont be the best thing for a noob to try out but to be fair i like using this technique and it works fine for me, like i said it depends on the initial sound a lot.

put your formant filtering in the beginning of the chain - followed by LOTS of distortion and EQ.

Be careful with using this technique because things can easily turn to shit.

Also using the EQ as a filter really thins out the sound significantly so you'll need a fair amount of distortion to bring it back out. WOW Filter, if you have it, is a good way to do this.
