I'd there a way I can increase compatibility with DSF on iPhone? I find myself using it more on here but it's pretty awkward due to size etc, so is there a mobile theme or something that I'm missing?

we're working on it... the main issue at the moment is the lack of a solid service with dynamic banner support. stay tuned!

A user was in the process of developing something like this. Guess he called it quits though.

Looks great on Opera Mini. Looked better and was even faster with Bolt, but they shut down.
What would be the point of an app when there's already a browser and RSS?

there's no bug free port of phpbb that works with all browsers/all mobiles at the moment. there's two or three that are close to being perfect, except for some main issues. flash vs html5, screen sizes of each device (they're all different), and the ability to include a dynamic banner instead of a static banner (which is currently the norm, but not for us) . DSF might work amazing on a BB, and then crash and look like shit on an android. there are a few ports now that only cater for one device (only iPhone, only iPad, only bb, etc).
we're too big and too international to simply run with one phone standard, so rather that make a mobile version thats going to crash/have weird behaviour for 50% of the people out there, we're going to wait a while longer until its closer to 90% bug free.
as it stands now if you browse from mobiles, i'd recommend using the "sub silver" theme in your forum prefs instead of the "pro silver "theme default. sub silver seems to work on most mobile browsers well.

just to explain further, the issues with phpbb and mobiles come down to framesets and scripting.
every mobile device has a default frameset. phpbb forum themes also have framesets. the problem with the mobile world is that nobody can agree on one universal code (ie...adobe vs apple vs rim vs nokia vs google, etc). some phones use java, some use html5, some use symbian, some use flash. everyone wants to make their phone different from the others. its a shitfest, because of all the money involved. app developers have to develop for each phone company, instead of one universal system. tapatalk is awfully close to nailing it, but it still is full of bugs/crashing. hopefully by this summer we can find a way to do this to make everyone happier.

what pm issue? usually pm issues revolve around your browser plug ins on firefox. there's a known conflict with some of the cookie plugins too. if you have cookie mgmt on your browser, make sure to set DSF to accept cookies, otherwise, you'll probably run into pm problems.

Install Opera Mini, it's available on most phones. It securely routes sites through its servers to format every page and can even compress the data which is great if you don't have unlimited data. It's about 10x faster than the default browser on my blackberry. Stuff loads instantly and I've not come across any site that won't work (besides full flash sites).
Google is working with them now and funding.
This forum looks and works exactly how it does on my desktop, including the banners.
