Simple question to ohmicide users, bought it, unlike most plugins

Because I was getting bored of overdrive and decimort, however I'm really having trouble getting anything to sound even relatively clean out of it :L Every time I up the gain it just sounds way too messy. So whats your advice? Also I was wondering what type of distortions you favor in ohmicide

You probably need to adjust the 'trim' knob on the top left side. It should be set so that that one of the red dots is constantly lit and the middle one flashes. If all 3 are lit up then the input is too high and your distortion will sound messy.

there is always the dry/wet knob to bring back some of the original clarity

another thing about ohmicide is that the gain goes up to +40dB... higher than a lot of other distortion units. so make sure that it isn't set too high, because like most other units - once you go past +20dB of gain, things start to get messy.

this might sound noobish but did you try to split the sound and keep the original one and adjust the ohmicide channel with some eq and expander reverb etc so you have some grime but its also clean

Tightening up your bands will also help clean up the sound. Try to pick precise bands in your sound to distort. No sense distorting shitty fuzz and artifacts.
