Title says it all, among all that you have tried, owned, or rocked at all whats your favorite set? I'm asking because im in the market for some new phones and im stuck between ath-m50's, hd-25's, or hd280's. i find myself breaking almost every pair of phones i get within weeks. Almost always on the connector, which has me leaning strongly toward the 25's due to the replaceable parts. However I hear there i shotty build quality, which puts me off if im paying 200 bills. so tell me dsf, whats your favorite pair of earwear?

I still have yet to find my headset soul mate
Some high quality buds though, I had these Altec Lansing bass boosting ones that were just killer, but when they fell apart on me I stuck with the new gen apple ones, can't go wrong with them, I think they're quality!

M50's have more low end rumble which is better for dubstep, HD-25 has more punch which is better for trance and house etc. And the HD-25 (not the sp version which is crap) is probably the toughest phone out there.
You might want to look at audio technica Pro700mk2. Massive rumble, like two subs on your head

i've been rolling with Sennheiser HD380's for the past 2-3 years now.. with these it sort of comes down to, great sound, look like idiot.
i think they look ridiculous, but soundwise they are spot on.. havn't tried them in the mix with a system, but from experience day to day usage they are brilliant, and when i mix at home they do the job, noise cancellation, i don't know, i'm not really satisfied, but i havn't tried a whole lot of pairs (i don't mean wear for 10 minutes, a trial is a hefty period..) but they are only noise cancelling when music is playing, and although that is somewhat the idea, you can see faults in that, but yeah, i dunno what like the industry standard is.
seem to be pretty solid, although my 1/8" jack seems to play up with some devices, but it might just be the inputs of the devices, last time i checked it's never been dodge with my laptop, and it's always run fine in a 1/4" jack adaptor.. i can't remember what they cost me, but definitely no regret, great comfy headphones with plenty of volume, good frequency range, i believe they're flat EQ but, i'd have to check the box.. but i believe they're flat.

TMA 1's for me. Must rugged, durable headphones ive ever owned
my lady has the tma 1s and i think they're intensely overrated and overpriced. mediocre sound quality and pretty uncomfortable.

That is very reassuring , i think its between the m50's and the hd25's now simply because 280s lack bass and one of the reasons im getting phones is because i use 4 inch monitors. When trying to characterize subs its nearly impossible. is there any difference between the hd-25, hd-25 II's, and the adidas version?

Nah, the adidas is the exact same as the HD25 except with adidas branding.
