Here's a remix I did of Ellie Goulding's Starry Eyed. As much as I'd like to call myself some sort of a producer, I never really do any of this stuff. It's real fun though, and it's something I'd really be interested in progressing in. Here's the song:

Comments and criticism are appreciated.
Thanks!

Not a big fan of the snare, sounds a bit flat in the mix...maybe try giving it a bit of a boost and perhap increasing the reverb on it a bit more. The mid range bass whilst not my thing is mixed together really well, sits nicely. Like the step up on the beat programming toward the end of the tune, goes almost a bit drumstep?

I'll have to try your suggestions, thanks! I was going for the little step up at the end, I figure a little change of pace is always fun. Unfortunately, All I really have to produce with as far as sound is an old pair of headphones. Do you have any tips about watching a spectrum analyzer to help mixing and things like that?
Thanks!

I'd recommend getting a pair of monitors at the earliest opportunity to improve your sound. That being said, a good spectrum analyser can be used as a training aid to 'watch' the sounds and the different ranges they're hitting. Try loading the analyser onto the master, then go through and listen to each element of the tune (kick, snare, Massive, etc) by itself to listen and watch the signal patterns. If you've got a lot of elements hitting around the same frequency range, maybe think about EQing some of them so that you create space in the mix.
If you haven't got an analyser already, I recommend

Thanks for the suggestions and help, I'll have to scour craigslist for some monitors.

I suppose this is a bump, also an attempt to progress. I messed around with some levels and stuff, I felt the drums were getting lost. I could be wrong. Here it is.
