Like the overall gritty lo-fi feel to this, but the whole thing is a bit loopy and repetitive, even for a short clip like this. The snare is quite weak as well, and often gets lost under the mid range that is going on.

I agree with wub, it does get a bit repetitive. Good things though are the combination of sounds - the gritty distortion with the more ambient pad sounds. You could increase this contrast by making the pads more ambient - add stereo width, resonance, reverb, and make them chords rather than single notes.
Then you could try adding some dubby sounding piano or guitar chords, and maybe a g-funk sounding melody

Everything sounds overly-wide. Pick a few elements you definitely want wide e.g pads and then keep other things either mono or pan them.
With regards to the snare I think for this kind of song maybe try a shorter reverb time and layer with a snare that has more low end.
That gritty bass does sound nice though I must say
