i just use iTunes to convert to 320
i dunno what the fuss over that is all about
i've heard you "need" to use LAME encoder... i really couldn't tell you why it makes a difference
320KB per second is the same rate, whoever encodes it

This.

An yeah, you simply choose bit rate mode: constant and pick 320. Love audacity.

Don't want to sound pedantic as I can't tell you the in's and out's of it myself but there is a difference between the encoders available even if they are all at 320.
But its probably negligible and unnoticable by many who hear it.

Sorry that was a pointless statement....carry on........

i use dBPoweramp.

you can use audacity, you just have to download an extra encoder file to be able to export to mp3 (on my version anyway)

WinLame. Also supports FLAC, OGG and AIFF (I think). It's free, simple and good. So yeah, use that.

I usually just convert my 320's to wavs with audacity. Such a big chance in sound quality.
