Representing the bass culture of Aotearoa comes Tallan. With a heavyweight tribal vibe and a true love of Italo Disco, Tallan is part of a movement pushing sound systems further and harder around Wellington and parts of Mullumbimbi. Drawing on massive influence from other New Zealand artists Optimus Gryme, Truth, True Bliss and The Upbeats to sounds across the world such as Mala, Kode 9 and Cher there is no wonder his productions have come to where they are.

“Tallan’s Parted is a great EP and worthy addition to the ISR catalog. The title track comes in swinging with great movement, excellent use of space, and solid percussion laced by cool sci-fi-esque synths. ‘Spiritless’ is a sparse but weighty track reminiscent of arid mountainscapes; it has an absolutely massive bass swell and lots of space to layer additional elements in creative ways. Next up is ‘Hornet’, perfect for introducing some tension with its mean bassline and sharp lead synths that keep you on the edge of your seat without making your ears bleed! Lastly we have ‘Cirra’, a track with a really nice roll and proper wobble that reminds me fondly of SP:MC’s productions. Overall Parted is a heavyweight EP and definitely one that I’m happy to have in my arsenal!”

“Parted is on point, spacious, techy, and deep. I’ve been playing this one out for a while and will be playing this for a while still to come. This release is right up my alley overall, deep, dark, and heavy all the way through. Excellent tunes”.
