Finding a flat mate?

Ive no experience with this but a friend has to find someone to move in to her soon-to-be spare room so she can renew the lease on her place and is trying to avoid mentals.
We have some friends who have some real horror storys so shes abit wary of it all not to mention you dont want to end up with say a hardcore christian who gets pissed off everytime you roll in at 6am or just a total nutter.
You guys know of any sites outside of Gumtree? Shes asked everyone she knows (Work-Uni-Friends) and hasnt had any luck so far.
I would move in myself but have so far failed miserably at finding work up there!
Edit: There being london.

The last time we were looking we used

A friend of mine is looking for a place actually. He was big in the city at one point but due to the economic downturn has had to find other work. Not really sure what he does now but he's always got dough. He likes to keep fit and has a keen interest in music.
I'll see if I can find a pic....

If I somehow manage to find a job in London and she's still looking, I'd be up for it.

Need to move out of parents friends place in two weeks, so interested. Will be working in the fulham area so would like to be close ish to there. Location over comfort. Pm if interested. Been looking on spareroom, seems promising, also londonwarehouses.co.uk seem cool. Healthy m/f mix essential, living in a big house with just guys will get vile lol. Know of one other dj/producer will be interested. Could be fun!

If this happens, please think of me for doing all your DIY stuff... not for moving in though.

Genuinely would be very interested in a flatshare, any realistic way of sorting it out?
