I have not no, but I go to the cinema alone the odd time because a clash of tastes (friends want to watch project x, I want to watch to watch the artist).
Feels a bit weird but at least I don't have to keep explaining to the person next to me.

I very rarely go to the cinema on my own, but I never see the problem with it, it's not like it makes any difference having someone next to you that you can't even talk to anyway.

I went on my own once, to see this
Never again
Edit
I tell a lie - I was waiting for a coach one time and had a few hours to spare. Decided to go and see
I don't have the best of luck with solo trips to the flicks

Even if there isn't a clash in tastes. For example, I have one friend who keeps saying: she's hot. Om, she's hot. Holy ****, she's hot... I kid you not. The other friend who has a habit of saying the movie's **** and complains before going to sleep. I don't generally go alone, but I have done it in the past and if you're looking for a solitary night out (which I recommend), do it. The trick is not to look like a complete social reject society deems you to be.

We were just talking about this in class today! Everyone was saying that it's weird to go to the cinema alone, but the teacher disagreed. I've never been to the cinema alone before, but I'm going to this Sunday if I get all my work done.

I would love to go to the cinema alone, sounds fun, but i can't help but look like that.
The only time i have ever seen someone alone in the cinema was when i went to see the Da Vinci Code, guy behind me had his formals on, blazer, tie and all. Sat looking like he was listening to an academic but with a beverage and snacks . It was during the afternoon so it might have been his lunchbreak or something.
I wanted to go see the Muppets but couldn't find anyone who wanted to go so i was gonna just go myself, but i ended up going with my sis - society would probably think that was more "sad" then me going to see a kids film alone though. Sick movie though.

i see no problem with it, when you go to the cinema with someone you just sit there not talking anyway, also i much prefer watching films alone (although never done it at the cinema cos i got well loads of m8's). Spent the whole of last summer finishing work at 12ish and catching the 1am film on Film4 and I loved it, smoke a spliff in the garden and come in and chill to a film.

I used to go alone for a period of time where no one really wanted to go to the cinema. It's been better lately though. Especially since the local cinema only charges £4.50 on weekdays! Even a shit film isn't too bad.

films at the cinema are rarely good, i haven't been happy for giving £6 of my hard earned cash for a long time. Well, the inbetweeners movie was funny, but before that i can't remember.

I enjoy going solo at the cinema, I still use the old hole in the popcorn tub game, tricking myself into touching it up for that added adventure (cumface in glow of the silverscreen, magical).
Nar seriously though, I love the cinema going experience, even though it's a square £15 these days after snacks, i'll go on my days off work for the early showings when it's just me and a couple of others in the screening.
