Just been on musicradar.com and noticed this article about Propellerhead sharing some "exciting news" on the 20th of march at a presentation.
Any ideas what this could be?

They have been given permission to arrest anyone, making awful dubstep with pirated versions of their software.

The article I read about it said it was going to be for developers.

A VST wrapper / rewire program would be amazing, but my guess is it's a kit to let developers make new devices for Reason.

So if someone was to say... Be able to code they could make their own devices.... :corndance:

I seriously doubt it's anything to do with VSTs or wrappers. They have stated time and time again they don't want this because it will compromise the stability of the software.

It would be cool though if they have found a way to implement it without compromising stability, but then it would just be another DAW. So far the way they have gone about it as an all-in-one music production program is what makes it unique and sets it apart from the rest.

Plus, don't Record and Reason work as 1 now, allowing you to use VSTs with Record? Could have sworn there was some kind of workaround besides Rewire. Something to do with JACK?

Reason emulates hardware, so it's actually the other way around :W:

Yeah, I saw a video a while back of someone doing it, but the video was misleading. They were using JACK to record a VST into Record via ASIO I think, not hosting a VST.
