can you creaite '128's' in logic?

is there any way to create '128's' efficiently and organized in logic like you can in ableton? if you dont know what 128's are watch this video. but in short its just dropping 128 snare samples, 128 kick samples, 128 hhats, etc etc and mapping each hit to a midi channel and then assigning a knob to scroll through those midi channels so that you can swap drum hits in the context of your song on the fly.

im trying to get more work flow oriented recently because i think it's the major problem with my production.

Copy 128 samples into an audio track in logic.
Select all, right click, convert to new sampler track.
Now you should have an EXS24 instrument with the 128 samples laid out from the lowest possible note on a keyboard to the highest.
There's your "128", and if you have the samples already it will take you about 10 seconds to make.

Switching notes on the fly is a little trickier... You could just open up the midi data and move it all up or down a semitone. Kind of impractical but for producing it would work. An even better way to switch between the notes in logic would be to just program something to transpose your entire track by 1 semitone, then you could switch between drums real easily. I'm sure EXS24 has a feature that will let you do it too. I will definitely give this a shot at some point, let us know if you figure it out.

i thought you meant 128kbps mp3's i don't even know if that's an available bitrate
but why 128, is that just some arbitrary high number?

seems totally ridiculous to me

cmd-L something to the "transpose" control in exs.

Damn, there is always so much to learn. I have not seen this method and I learned a couple of new tricks.

I always made these Drumracks with large groups of kicks, snares, hi-hats etc. I've even made individual Drumracks that were all snares etc.

I have no idea about Logic but this is another nice Ableton tool.

not sure i totally understand you. i think i understand getting all the samples in the 0-127 midi channels in an esx, but im not sure how i could practically scroll through them on the fly, in the context of my song.

well im glad i could be of help in that department! once you get 128 good samples of each drum hit, create the template and you'll be crankin out tunes like nothing. i really want to do this in logic! you ableton bastards lol. if ableton was 64 bit, didnt crash so much and such on cpu i would have got it. but at the same time ableton was harder for me to use than logic right off the bat, and i dont like how the stock plugins are stuck to their bottom position.

Would it be worthwhile to point out that you don't need to do anything elaborate like this in flstudio, you can instantly audition any sample in place of any other sample? You can do 1280's pretty easily.

No, it wouldn't be worthwhile. :(
